Government Convenes Joint Inter-Ministerial Committee to Fast-Track 2025-2029 CBA Negotiations for Public Universities

The Government has appointed a Joint Inter-Ministerial Committee to oversee the conclusion of the 2025-2029 Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs) for Public Universities. In an invitation dated 5th October 2026, the Committee is scheduled to meet on Tuesday, 6th October 2026, at 10:30 AM at the NSSF Building, Nairobi.

The meeting, chaired by Principal Secretary Shadrack M. Mwadime, CBS, will review the status of the negotiations, outstanding financial and non-financial proposals, and the necessary measures to expedite the process and promote industrial peace in the sector.

The Committee includes representatives from key ministries, university leadership, and trade unions (UASU, KUSU, and KUDHEIHA).
